Our home care Chichester and live-in care agency is based in our beautiful HQ barn in Apuldram, which is the original Guardian Angel Carers branch of our Chichester based founder, Christina Bassadone. As an ex-Olympian sailor, Chichester Harbour was the natural location for her to set up and create our CQC outstanding Chichester home care and live-in care services.
We love being based in this wonderful part of the world, with its beaches, countryside and historic Cathedral City of Chichester on our doorstep. We understand why our home care and live-in care clients want to keep enjoying all that life here has to offer and it’s why our team do all they can to make our home care and live-in services both possible and positive for our clients.
If you live in Chichester, you can expect a friendly and professional approach. Christina Handasyde Dick is the founder and owner of Guardian Angel Carers, an award-winning care company based in West Sussex. She lives with her family and an amiable Labrador named Honey in the seaside village of West Wittering. As a mother of three, Christina understands well the importance of trust and responsiveness when it comes to making sure loved ones are receiving the best care possible.
Christina represented Team GB at two different Olympic Games, and her experience as an Olympic sailor taught her about focus and accountability as well as other values that have made Guardian Angel Carers such a success. When Christina retired from sailing, she was inspired to create her own care company after visiting an elderly family friend and observing that the care services available to her friend were limited. At this moment, Christina’s compassionate outlook and her commitment to sailing and to her fellow Olympians merged. Her leadership skills work in tandem with the team-oriented mentality she cultivated as an Olympic sailor to ensure that her team of Guardian Angels continue to provide excellent customised care for families and individuals.
Thanks in part to Christina’s unique skills and life experiences, Guardian Angel Carers are recognised for their compassionate professionalism, a priority Christina recognised at the very beginning of her process. Christina’s exacting standards are visible in every element of the culture of care she has cultivated at Guardian Angel Carers. As a direct result of her company’s focus on independence, dignity and the changing needs of the individual, she and her team of Guardian Angels enjoy a fantastic local reputation, with over 60% of business coming from personal referrals alone.
Vikki Craig-Vickers is the Head of Operations at Guardian Angel Carers. Vikki lives with her wife in Chichester, only a few miles from Guardian Angel Headquarters. Their Cockerpoo, Stevie, is proud to be the official mascot of Guardian Angel Carers. Vikki, a self-described people person, feels fortunate that many of her colleagues feel as close to her as family. Because she lives by a personal philosophy that embraces openness, Vikki has found that nearly every encounter she has had with a new person has taught her something valuable about life.
Before Vikki began working with Guardian Angel Carers, she completed a five-year law degree and worked for a wealth management company in Bristol. Though these experiences provided her with valuable professional expertise, Vikki credits her extensive travels abroad as her most significant learning experience. When Vikki isn’t working, she can likely be found enjoying a water-sport or a dip in the sea, or on the road in the VW camper that transports her and her wife and Stevie to many an outdoor adventure. Vikki is passionate about sustainability, and her interest in looking after the environment manifests in a wide range of eco-friendly activities, from up-cycling waste materials into eco-bricks to hunting for second-hand treasures at the local car boot sale.
Thanks to Vikki’s wide network of close friends and family, Vikki understands first-hand the importance of genuine concern and responsiveness when a loved one needs extra support. She describes her team of Guardian Angels as dedicated, supportive and hardworking; please contact us to find out more about how Guardian Angel Carers can help.
