Alzheimers Society Cupcake Day at GAC
Icing. Lots of sprinkles. And a big helping of hope for people affected by dementia
“Dementia is the number one cause of death in England and Wales. It doesn’t discriminate and currently there’s no cure. With your help, we aim to change this. Last year, dedicated Cupcakers around the country united to raise a mighty £330,000 against dementia. That’s more than enough to fund 11 PhD researchers for a year, giving them the opportunity to undertake vital, potentially lifesaving work.” – Alzheimers Society website
At Guardian Angel Carers we provide support to people living with Dementia every day. We see the impact it has on those who have it, but also the people surrounding them. We have made it a priority to learn as much about Alzheimer’s as a disease and all the types of Dementia that we know of, we train our CareAngels regularly, as researchers make breakthroughs regularly. Everyday we become more educated on these illnesses and everyday Alzheimers Society are striving to find a cure.
So we want to give them a helping hand, by indulging our inner baking goddess and decorating yummy treats for our local neighbours, we hope to raise as much cash as possible with our sweet treats in support of this fantastic cause.
We have also opened the bake off up to a competition, where our CareAngels will battle it our for ‘Yummiest Cupcake’, ‘Prettiest Cupcake’ and the overall Winner ‘Superstar Cupcake’. We were generously donated these gorgeous wooden spoons, personalised especially for us, by Auntie Mims.
If you would like your own unique wooden spoon, please do pay them a visit at www.auntiemims.com.
Thank you very much for such a wonderful prize!
So if you are in the area Friday 16th June after 11am and have some spare change, please feel free to pop into Angel HQ, Apuldram, Chichester. Go on and treat yourself to a delicious cupcake, baked with love by an Angel. x
