Christmas in Havant
Here in Havant, local businesses and community members have been working hard to bring Christmas cheer to our local residents and visitors. It has been a long and challenging year for all of us, but thanks to our community, festive events are underway to lift your spirits and enable you and your loved ones to look forward to a brighter future ahead. There still is Christmas in Havant!
- Join other community members to celebrate with some playful Christmas characters.
At the Meridian Centre on Elm Lane in Havant, a Christmas competition invites you and your loved ones of all ages to find Santa’s elves in the store windows on their Christmas trail. As you shop for Christmas presents, look for Santa’s helpers and be reminded of the help you have given and received throughout the lockdown period. As well, the Spring Arts & Heritage Centre on East Street is presenting several performances to entertain and delight. Some titles include The Enchanted Snow Globe, Midwinter Revels, and A Christmas Carol.
Do some last-minute shopping for Christmas decorations
The Christmas Shop at Keydell Nurseries on Havant Road in Horndean is full of beautiful baubles, garlands, ornaments, wreaths, and trees of all shapes and sizes. The Kitchen café is open if you need a refreshing cup of tea, and the Swanmore Family Butchers are back in operation at the garden centre from Thursday through Sunday. Pies, sausages, and other fresh meats are on offer, and they are taking orders for vegetable and fruit boxes.
Are you looking for wearable Christmas decorations? Find the perfect Christmas jumper at any of the clothing stores at Solent Retail Park. As well, Inspire on Park Road South has a beautiful selection of party wear, fascinators, and hats if you’re looking for something a bit more extravagant!
Enjoy fresh air and Christmas good cheer in the great outdoors
If you prefer to go a little bit further afield and enjoy some fresh air while you celebrate Christmas, take a short drive north of Havant towards the vast woodlands of Butser Hill Natural Nature Reserve. The Queen Elizabeth Country Park is hosting a special elf-themed Christmas event and festive walk in the countryside. As well, fans of the Watercress Line will be happy to know that the trainline is currently featuring a festive LED light show. The display can be enjoyed while viewing the steam train from outside and while riding inside the steam train itself.
