Live-in client testimonial

“The live-in care team have become part of the family. With the country in Covid-19 lockdown, the care team ensured my parents-in-law were kept safe. Sadly, my father-in-law was very frail and passed away in January. The care team were able to support my mother-in-law who suffers from dementia and keep her in the familiar surroundings of her home.” - David S (Son-in-law of client)

Benefits of live-in care

  • Uniquely tailored care for your needs
  • Home sweet home, surrounded by a lifetime of memories

A day in the life with live-in care

It’s important to note that there is no typical day in the life of live-in care. Each live-in care plan is tailored to fit around your individual needs, routines and preferences and will look different for each person. Here is an example of what a typical day could look like:

Morning routine

Your live-in carer will be there to support as you need, whatever your morning routine.

This could include waking you up with your favourite cup of tea, supporting you with your personal care needs such as assistance with getting dressed or washed, preparing your breakfast and medication, ready to start your day.

Our carers all receive outstanding training and can assist with getting you out of bed and moving around your home as required using various types of mobility aids.

Your carer can assist with any daily tasks you may find difficult such as doing the ironing, vacuuming or changing your bedding.

During the day

Throughout the day your live-in carer can assist with any tasks you require help with. We understand that quality care allows you to remain as independent as possible in your own home. Our carers are trained to help you remain independent and assist you to do the things you want to do rather than take over.

Your live-in carer can prepare all your meals if you’d like them to, or they can assist you to make them if you enjoy cooking and want to continue honing your culinary skills!

However you like to spend you day, our live-in carers will be there to support you. Your care plan will be tailored to your preferences and unlike in care homes, you have the freedom to decide how you want your day to be structured. Whether you like to watch your favourite tv show, tend to your garden, enjoy a shopping trip or catch a show at the theatre, your live-in carer can assist you to live your life the way you want to live it.

Night-time

Whatever your night-time routine your live-in carer can support you as you wish. They can bring you your nightly hot chocolate whilst you unwind with a good book, prepare you a relaxing bath before bed and assist you as required. When you are ready for bed, you can rest easy knowing that your live-in carer is nearby in your spare room ready to help you with whatever you need during the night. Knowing that you have someone there to help in an emergency will not only give you peace of mind, but your loved ones too.

Respecting your personal space and time

Your personal care plan will outline your wishes and personal preferences to ensure your boundaries and privacy wishes are always respected. Each live-in carer will be carefully matched with you to ensure you feel comfortable in their company.

You may wish to eat with your carer, making plans for the day ahead or just having a nice chat. Some people prefer alone time, space to just switch off and think, or relax watching their favourite TV shows. We can also support couples and give you time and space to spend time alone together. Whatever your preference for personal space, our carers will respect your wishes and be there when you need them.

We can support with the following types of live-in care

  • Convalescence care – recuperation post operation
  • Respite care – providing a break for a family carer
  • Short term – on holiday or for a special occasion
  • Long term – best alternative to residential care
  • Couples live-in care – living life together for longer
