Tina Karo ‘Client-Nominated CareAngel of 2025’
Tina has been described as someone who makes clients “feel safe, comfortable, and respected”, bringing “calm reassurance into their homes”.
One family spoke about Tina’s impact during the final days of a loved one’s life, saying “In those most delicate moments, Tina’s care was not only professional but profoundly human. Her steady presence, gentle words, and quiet strength brought peace and dignity at a time of great vulnerability. She supported both the client and their family, offering comfort that will be remembered long beyond those days.”
Tina’s care and dedication have undoubtedly had a profound impact on the people she supports. One client, Cherry, personally nominated her for a national award after witnessing an act of determination that perfectly captures the spirit of a true CareAngel. When a large tree fell across the road, completely blocking access to Cherry’s home, Tina refused to let this stand in the way of providing her essential care. Rather than turning back, she parked nearby, climbed over the tree, and continued on foot to ensure Cherry wasn’t left without her visit.
“Being a CareAngel means so much to me,” says Tina, “When I’m out in the community it’s about communicating and building relationships and respect with these people so that they trust you enough to have you in their home and receive care from you.”
“I think being a carer can sometimes look like it’s just black and white, but there’s so much more to the job than just going in and doing personal care and taking them out for shopping or taking them to appointments.”
Nicola Webb ‘New to Care – Rising Star 2025’
“Nicola supports clients with complex physical and mental health needs, reading emotions well and adjusting her approach, ensuring clients feel respected, understood, and reassured,” says her manager Liz Ellis.
“In every sense, Nix embodies the Guardian Angel Carers ethos. Her combination of professionalism, empathy, and team spirit makes her an outstanding example of a rising star in care.”
Nicola herself commented, “I don’t come from a caring background. I actually had my own transport business with 17 employees, and I got to a point in my life where I felt like I needed to give something back. And caring is so much more than just a job. It makes me feel quite emotional because I’ve massively changed my life.”
“Every time I go in to see somebody I know it’s a job, but it’s like you’re giving your time to somebody. And that’s what I love about it.”

Celebrating Family. Recognising Carers.
“I’m so proud of Tina and Nix, who have proven that they truly deserve the title of ‘CareAngel’,” says Vikki Craig-Vickers, managing director of Guardian Angel Carers.
“Christmas is a time to celebrate family, but for us, it’s also a time to ensure that our incredible CareAngels are recognised too.”
“As we approach the festive season, it’s also important to remember that January is a time when caring businesses such as us receive more enquiries than any other time of year. In spending more time together, family members often notice or realise that time has taken its toll and elderly relatives have become more vulnerable, more frail.”
Louise Cobban, owner of Guardian Angel Carers Spelthorne, says: “We know that the vast majority of people in the UK would prefer to remain in their own home as they grow older. So we work closely with you and your loved ones to create personalised care plans that give clients as much independence as possible.”
Guardian Angel Carers provide home care, live-in, specialist and overnight care across the UK.
