Working as a Live-In Carer in Chichester

Live-in carers can work diverse shift patterns and may be part of a structured team, working set hours or days per week, ensuring the individual has a carer on hand at any time of day or night when they need support, companionship, or reassurance.
Shift patterns can be adapted to needs, for example, with a certain number of days on followed by an equal number of days off. In some cases, we provide live-in care as part of a specialist care package to offer attentive assistance during a post-hospital period or recovery.
Live-in carers often help with cooking, ensuring the people they look after enjoy nutritious, home-cooked food and can sit down for a relaxing evening meal in the privacy of their home, maintaining the person’s routine and ensuring they live with dignity.

Some of the essential skills we look for from live-in care post applicants include:
- The ability to help with varied areas of life, from physical activities to emotional support, logging records of medication issued, or any changes to the client’s well-being.
- A calm, kind nature, helping individuals enjoy their favourite hobbies or participate in social occasions.
- A flexible attitude, being happy to help with pet care, personal care, transport requirements and various domestic support duties.
- Excellent communication skills, getting to know a person’s likes and dislikes, understanding how to respect their space and independence, and liaising with other care team members, family, and medical professionals.
